
You recognize the story of their legendary rise and fall, however you’ve by no means seen it unfold like this. The three-part docuseries The Boleyns: A Scandalous Household tells the story of the crafty sixteenth century clan — whose lovely, bold daughter Anne famously turned King Henry VIII’s second spouse and was beheaded for treason — by way of in-depth interviews with historians (40 hours have been shot, then edited) and plush dramatizations, many filmed on the Boleyns’ ancestral house, Hever Citadel.
“We have been eager to make all the pieces recent and vibrant, for them to really feel like dwelling, respiratory folks,” says Cate Corridor, chief of growth for the BBC’s documentary unit. “We checked out each surviving letter that chronicled what these folks thought and felt. We wished to present them again the phrases that they stated.”
Tonight, scheming patriarch Thomas (Max Dowler) begins his ascent and grooms his youngsters to enter the courtroom’s inside circle.
