The director of nationwide intelligence is making ready to evaluate the objects recovered throughout the FBI search of at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property earlier this month, CBS Information has discovered. 

In a letter despatched to congressional leaders Friday, Director of Nationwide Intelligence Avril Haines stated her workplace would conduct a “classification evaluate of related supplies.” 

“The Division of Justice (DOJ) and the Workplace of the Director of Nationwide Intelligence (ODNI) are working collectively to facilitate a classification evaluate of related supplies, together with these recovered throughout the search,” Haines wrote. “ONDI may also lead an Intelligence Group evaluation of the potential danger to nationwide safety that may outcome from the disclosure of the related paperwork.” 

The letter was addressed to Rep. Carolyn Maloney, chair of the Home Oversight and Reform Committee, and Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the Home Intelligence Committee.

“ODNI will intently coordinate with DOJ to make sure this IC evaluation is carried out in a fashion that doesn’t unduly intervene with DOJ’s ongoing felony investigation,” Haines wrote. 

This comes after a federal court docket in Florida on Friday launched the redacted affidavit that was submitted by the FBI in an effort to acquire its search warrant. 

The affidavit disclosed that 15 containers of information recovered from Mar-a-Lago in January by the Nationwide Archives and Data Administration included 184 paperwork with classification markings, together with 67 marked “confidential,” 92 marked “secret,” and 25 marked “high secret.” Fourteen of the 15 containers contained categorized paperwork. The FBI stated personal areas of Mar-a-Lago weren’t licensed to carry such information.

In a publish to his Fact Social platform Friday, Trump closely criticized the redactions.
